By road
Driving up from Delhi NCR.
Most of our guests drive, and it is the easiest way to arrive. Delhi to Ramgarh is roughly 320 km and, honestly, seven to nine hours depending on where in NCR you start and how the Moradabad stretch behaves.
The route runs Delhi, Hapur, Moradabad, Rampur, Rudrapur, Haldwani, Kathgodam, and then the climb begins. From Kathgodam you go up through Bhowali, and at Bhowali you turn for Ramgarh rather than Nainital. That turn is the one people miss.
From Bhowali it is about 12 km of hill road to us. It is narrow in places and it is genuinely beautiful, so leave earlier than you think and stop where you want to.
If you are driving in the monsoon
Landslips close hill roads without warning between July and September. Call us the morning you set out and we will tell you what the road is doing. This is not a formality. It is the single most useful phone call you can make that day.
By train and air
Arriving without a car.
Kathgodam station
45.5 km, about 1 hour 45 minutes. The Ranikhet Express and the Shatabdi both serve it from Delhi. Taxis wait outside the station, or tell us your train number and we will have one there.
Pantnagar airport
79.6 km, about 2 hours 22 minutes via NH 109. The route has tolls. Flights are limited and get cancelled in poor weather, so keep a train as a fallback.
Parking
You stop at your room, not in a lot.
Parking is on the property, free, and next to the rooms. After seven hours in a car with children this is not a small thing, and it is one of the two or three reasons guests give for choosing Ramgarh over staying in Nainital town, where Mall Road has no private parking at all.
If you are arriving with more than two cars, tell us in advance so we can keep the space.

Neem Karoli Baba's ashram. Go early — by nine the road is a queue and the hall is full. Most guests are back before breakfast is cleared.

The biggest of the lakes, with an island in the middle of it.

Nine corners, and quieter than Bhimtal. Boats, and a walk round the far side that most visitors never do.

The lake, the Mall Road and the ropeway. Busy, and best treated as an afternoon rather than a day.

Mukteshwar
