The parking problem in Nainital
Nainital town has government parking lots and no private parking on Mall Road. In season the lots fill, the approach roads are managed one way, and guests arriving by car after six or seven hours from Delhi finish the journey by carrying luggage a considerable distance uphill.
It is the single most common complaint we hear from guests who tried the town first.
What happens here instead
You drive up to the property, stop next to your room, and unload. Parking is free, on site, and there is no gate charge, no valet and no lot. If you are arriving with more than two cars, tell us in advance so we can keep the space.
You are then 25 km from Nainital, about an hour, which is a pleasant drive rather than a queue.
Why guests with families care most
Three quarters of our guests arrive as a family, mostly driving from Delhi NCR with children and often with elderly parents. For that group, where the car stops is not a detail. It decides how the first hour of the holiday goes.
One honest caution
The property has no lift, so once you are out of the car there are stairs. If you are travelling with someone who cannot manage stairs easily, tell us when you book and we will place you as low in the property as we can.
