Where the name came from
During the rainy season, clouds physically enter the property. They come up the valley, over the terrace railing and through the open rooms. Guests send us videos of it every July. The name is an observation, not a marketing idea, and it is the one thing about this place nobody else in Ramgarh can claim.
What we are
Eighteen rooms in Village Bohrakote, Ramgarh, in the Kumaon hills of Nainital district. Twelve face the valley from a private balcony, six face the garden. There is a pure vegetarian kitchen, an open rooftop terrace running sixty two feet along the valley edge, an orchard of pear, plum, peach and apricot, and parking at your room door.
The property is operated by Dharampal Resorts LLP and the land belongs to the family. That matters in a small way you will notice: the people making decisions here are the people who will still be here next season.
What we are trying to be
Not a resort. Not luxury. A well run hill hotel where the bed is good, the hot water works at seven in the morning, the food is worth staying in for, and nobody has oversold you anything.
That last part is why this website tells you there is no lift, no swimming pool and no market at the gate before it tells you anything else. Our rating sits at 4.8 across 250 guests, and a fair share of that is simply because people arrive knowing exactly what they are coming to.
What guests keep telling us
Food is the thing guests mention most often. Other hotels in Ramgarh send their own guests to eat at our restaurant, which is the only review that really counts. Guests name our manager, Mr. Wajid, in their reviews. Geetanjali Kaur wrote about the fruit trees before anything else. Mrs. Swati Srivastava has sent us two families who named her at check in, and neither came through a booking site.
What we are working on
Fourteen full occupancy days since May 2025, and every one of them showed us something that needed fixing before the next booking cycle. Currently on the list: solar with storage for the winter power cuts, water independence, and a walking track around the property.
