18 km, about 40 minutes by road. Go early in the morning. The road narrows near the ashram and the parking fills by mid morning in season.

25 km to Nainital city centre, roughly an hour. Ramgarh is quieter than Nainital town and you park at your own room door rather than in a government lot.

Most guests drive. Take the road to Haldwani, then Kathgodam, Bhowali, and turn for Ramgarh. Kathgodam railway station is 45.5 km away, about 1 hour 45 minutes. Pantnagar airport is 79.6 km, about 2 hours 22 minutes. We can arrange a taxi from either if you tell us in advance.

Yes, on the property, at no charge, next to the rooms. This is one of the main reasons guests choose us over staying in Nainital town, where there is no private parking on Mall Road.

The kitchen is pure vegetarian. Kumaoni and North Indian, served indoors and on an open terrace above the valley. Walk-ins are welcome whether you are staying with us or not.

Depends on the rate you book. Every room can be booked room only or with breakfast. Buffet breakfast is served 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM. If you booked room only you can still add breakfast, just tell reception the night before.

Yes, at no extra charge. We only ask that you tell us when you book so we can put you in a suitable room.

Children under twelve, and infants, stay free in the same room with no extra bedding. If a child under twelve needs a bed, the extra bedding is charged. Guests twelve and above are treated as an adult, with extra bedding provided and charged.

There is no lift and there is no swimming pool. The property runs across floors and you will use stairs, which is worth knowing if you are travelling with elderly parents. There is also no market at the gate, so bring what you need.

Normal check in is 2:00 PM and check out is 11:00 AM. The earliest we can let anyone in is 6:00 AM, and any arrival before 9 AM means we hold the room from the night before, so it is charged at half of one night's rate. Between 9 AM and noon is Rs 500, and up to two hours early is Rs 300. All of it depends on the room being vacant.

The latest check in is 11:00 PM. If your train or flight means you will arrive after that, tell us before you book rather than after, and we will work something out.
