We have stopped being surprised by it. It is the one thing guests write about before the view, and other hotels in Ramgarh send their own guests here to eat, which is the only review that really counts.
The kitchen is pure vegetarian. Kumaoni dishes alongside North Indian, cooked fresh rather than held. There is indoor seating and an open rooftop terrace that runs sixty two feet along the valley edge. Walk-ins are welcome whether you are staying with us or not.
Two thalis, complete set meals on a single platter. Choose one, then pick the number of dishes shown in each course. Prices per person, exclusive of applicable taxes.
Ten tables under a low ceiling, warm in the evening when the hill turns cold. Breakfast is laid until ten; after that the kitchen cooks a la carte whenever you ask, which on a hill where nothing else is open matters more than it sounds. Pure vegetarian, and it does not change for anybody.
Sixty-two feet of open terrace above the valley. Breakfast here in the sun and you will not want the indoor table again. In the monsoon it closes without notice, which is the hill's decision and not ours.

Served on the terrace when the weather allows and indoors when it does not. If you have booked room only you can still have breakfast, just tell reception the night before.
Children under 12 eat breakfast with the family.
Book a room with breakfastA staff meal is Rs 100, and it is whatever the kitchen has cooked for our own team that day. Plain, hot, vegetarian, and enough of it. It is not a menu order and there is no choosing.
Anyone who would rather eat from the restaurant menu is welcome to, and that is charged at menu prices instead.
Where a guest’s driver stays in our dormitory we charge two staff meals a day for the length of the stay, normally breakfast and dinner. A third meal on any day is added to the guest’s bill at check out.
The restaurant is open to anyone in Ramgarh, and to guests of other hotels. Call ahead for dinner on a weekend and we will keep a table on the terrace.
