The fruit belt of Kumaon, above Bhowali, and quieter than anywhere else within an hour of Nainital.
What Ramgarh is
Ramgarh sits above Bhowali on the road towards Mukteshwar, in what is known as the fruit belt of Kumaon. Pear, plum, peach and apricot grow here, including across our own property. It has no lake and no Mall Road, which is exactly why people choose it.
It is 25 km from Nainital, 18 km from Kainchi Dham and 32 km from Mukteshwar, so it works as a base for all three without being inside any of them.
Our property
Eighteen rooms. Twelve open onto a private valley facing balcony with a table and two chairs on it, six are garden facing and lower priced. There is an open rooftop restaurant running sixty two feet along the valley edge, a pure vegetarian kitchen that other hotels in Ramgarh send their own guests to, and parking at your door.
In the rainy season the cloud comes into the property. That is where the name came from.
Who comes here
Mostly families from Delhi NCR, usually driving, usually for two or three nights. Also couples who want quiet, and an increasing number of long stay guests in the off season who work from the balcony.
What we do not have
No lift, so you will use stairs. No swimming pool. No market at the gate. We put this on every page of this website rather than hiding it, because guests who arrive knowing are the guests who leave happy.
